It’s the first week in October which means the beginning of events season in New Orleans! Here is the breakdown of all the events to do with your family this weekend.
October 4-19 – Oktoberfest at Deutsches House
Where: Deutsches House – 1700 Moss Street, New Orleans
Time: Fridays: 4PM – 11PM
and Saturdays: 1PM -11PM

Oktoberfest NOLA brings Germany’s beloved celebration
to the Crescent City for three weekends filled with German culture, cuisine and
fun. Fest-goers can expect a host of authentic German foods, live music, dances
and activities.
October 4-5 – Oktoberfest at Rivertown
Where: Rivertown – 400 Williams Blvd., Kenner
Time: Friday 6PM – 10PM Saturday 2PM – 11PM
Cost: FREE
Celebrate Oktoberfest in Kenner’s Rivertown with great beer, live music,
delicious food and fun!
October 4-7 – Que Pasa Festival
Where: Lafreniere Park – 3000 Downs Blvd., Metairie
Time: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Cost: FREE
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the 9th annual Que Pasa
Fest presented by Cervantes Fundación Hispanoamericana de Arte (Cervantes
Hispanic-American Arts Foundation).This free, outdoor family festival is an
extension of the television show “¿Que Pasa New Orleans?†on Telemundo 42.
The festival, which takes place October 5-6, 2019 at the Al Copeland
Meadow Concert area in Lafreniere Park in Metairie, features live music,
dancing, food, arts and crafts, community outreach opportunities, and a
children’s area.
October 5 – Beignet Fest
Where: City Park Festival Grounds – Henry
Thomas Dr., New Orleans
Time: 10AM – 6PM
Cost: $5+
Classic powdered
sugar, crab meat-topped and Oreo filled – beignets come in all flavors and
forms. Whether you’re craving sweet or savory, Beignet Fest is bringing out
some of the best vendors in the city so you can have the pick of the
litter.Â
October 5-6 – Westbank Heritage Festival
Where: Alario Center – 2000 Segnette Boulevard, Westwego, LA

The 5th Annual Westbank Heritage
Festival is returning to the Alario Center October 5 & 6 bigger and better
than ever before. A celebration of the city’s vibrant Westbank, this year’s
festival will feature local arts, food and crafts vendors, and a stellar
musical entertainment lineup consisting of zydeco, jazz, blues, R&B,
country, rap and gospel music acts. The event will also include some new and
exciting experiences, so bring the whole family and enjoy this free outdoor
festival!

5-6 – Fall Garden Festival
Where: New Orleans City Park – 1 Palm

Time: Saturday 10AM – 5PM Sunday 10AM –
4PM
Cost: $10 for adults, $5 for children ages
5-12, children under 4 years old and Friends of City Park members receive free
admission.
The annual Fall Garden Festival is an
educational experience for home gardeners and professionals. Guests enjoy
plant and garden product exhibits and sales throughout the garden, a Children’s
Fun Fest area, educational programs, music, arts & crafts, and more.Â

– Algiers Fest
Where: Algiers Development District – 2500

This music festival, which celebrates
our military and our community, takes place at New Orleans Riverside at Federal
City and will feature live music, food trucks, drinks, children’s activities,
and for the first year ever – a Glow Bike Ride for breast cancer awareness
honoring survivors and the memories of those lost.
