What are the Qualification Requirements for an Uncontested Divorce?
1. You have been living separate and apart from your spouse – 180 days if you have no minor children of the marriage or 365 days if you have minor children of the marriage;
2. You do not need the court to determine any incidental matters such as child custody or support, community property partition, or spousal support; and
3. Your spouse is willing to sign a waiver of service and citation.
How much does an Uncontested Divorce Cost?
The cost for an uncontested divorce in Louisiana is $495 plus court costs. We also offer add-on packages if you and your spouse have agreed to incidental matters such as spousal support, child custody and or child support; and Community Property Partition. See our pricing table below.
How long does an Uncontested Divorce take to obtain?
In general, an uncontested divorce in Louisiana can be completed within two to three months. This duration depends on many factors. Some factors include your spouse’s willingness to sign a waiver of service and the time it takes the court to process your cases. Due to factors outside of its control, Rotharmel Shanks, LLC cannot guarantee any time in which the divorce will be completed.
What if my spouse is not willing to agree to the terms of the Divorce?

Divorce Only
You need a judgment of divorce only without any incidental matters such as child custody, child support, spousal support, or community property partition.
We prepare and file all pleadings necessary for your uncontested divorce. Both spouses must sign paperwork for the divorce in the presence of a notary.

The same as the Divorce Only option except the you obtain your judgment of divorce on an expedited basis - usually in about three weeks.
